Thanks for coming across our article, today we wanted to share with you the steps for a kitchen remodel. There are 5 major steps to remodel your kitchen, we made a video for this which you can watch below.
What is the first stage to begin this process?
The first step is the demo stage where our team will come in and demolish everything meaning walls, ceiling, flooring (depending on the situation of your project). This step is crucial in order to set us up for the next stage. Before we start this process we will give you a pdf file you can follow. Then once you are done with each step you can cross out the steps already taken care of.
Step 2 is Rough Carpentry
So now when it comes to the rough carpentry stage we will take a look at a few things like any framing work, moving windows, removing walls (if that’s part of the plan.) In some kitchens, an architect is required to move a load-bearing wall which will help make the space an open concept.
Step 3 is Mechanical work:
What is the mechanical work you ask, well that’s a great question mechanical work is plumbing, electrical and hvac (if needed).
Step 4 inspection permits
This is when you pass inspection meaning the town comes to your home and inspects all the work has been down correctly. When you get these permits you have passed all your inspections. Once you pass the inspections that’s when you know your kitchen remodel process will roll through the process nice and smooth. That’s when we will put up the walls and your kitchen will start to take shape.

- Permits (passed)
Certain things to keep in mind
One thing we need to keep in mind is that when you are doing a kitchen remodel there is going to be a lot of people coming in and out. So it’s important to know that there will be some touches up needed. Once we complete the touch-ups we need to close the books with the town.
So we would need to call the town for final inspections for building, plumbing, electrical etc. Then they will come out for a final inspection and pass the work that has been done which will finalize your project.
